Unit 10 Final Blog Post Personal Assessment

Class,

This class has proven to be beneficial for me. I have learned so much about Integral health and how to achieve it. In the beginning I was pleased to find out that, how I live my life in the word of God already had me on the path to health and wellness. I scored myself in the beginning psychologically at a 5, Spiritually 7, and physically 6. I now rate myself psychologically at a 7, spiritually 8, and physically 7. The score has changed a little because I have put into place some of the techniques learned from this course; mind training, the subtle mind and the calm abiding mind, using love, and compassion to help me to achieve a greater success in my journey to wellness.

I have made progress towards my goals. Physically I want to become more consistently active and teach classes. I have started working toward this goal and I am on my way. Psychologically I desired to be more intentional. I have worked on organizing myself and training my mind to be more intentional. Spiritually I wanted to come closer to God. By spending more time with him in meditation and pray I have come closer to God.

This experience has been rewarding. I am in more control of myself. I make more intentional decisions, and I am a stronger person mentally, physically and psychologically. I have experienced quite a few trials since I began this course but through healthy integral practices I have overcome the obstacles. I will use everything that I have learned to assist others in practice. I cannot lead where I have not been.

Unit 9 Final Project

Hello everyone I have enjoyed reading your post. I look forward to the future and the control I have gained from the lessons I have learned.

Introduction:
It is important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically for the patients. How can we guide someone on a path we have never been on? It will be a different experience but the same rules will apply. As a Health care professional our experience will speak to our clients through our convictions. If I am convinced I can convince others.

I need improvement in all three areas but I would focus on physically. Physically I am not where I want to be. It is challenging to find the time to exercise like I want to. One goal I have for myself is being able to instruct exercise classes. I was there, but my consistency was not. I am currently working on this goal because it is my desire to help others get physically fit and in good health.

Assessment:
Assessing my health in each domain is critical to accomplishing my goals. If I do not know where I am how will I know what to do to get to where I want to be? I have assessed myself and I have discovered that I am on the right track, I have made a lot of progressed and I just need to stay consistent. Spiritually I have flourished to the point that my spiritual connection guides my life and brings me health. I would rate myself at an 8 because no matter good you are you can always improve. Psychologically I have leaped in the right direction. I rate myself at a 6. I have more control over my actions. I make intentional decisions to better my life. I am not controlled by my emotions and I have gained control over the chattering mind. I do not just react but I have a subtle mind that moves into calm abiding, knowing where my emotions are and understanding how to proceed. Physically I have a strong desire to exercise and eat right. I rate myself at a 5. I know what to do and I have made preparations to do so. I just moved so I am looking for a good gym to join. In the mean time I have a great path to walk and so I do. I said I would start to take me time and exercise 30 minutes 3 times a week. I have started and I feel great.

Goal development:
Goals I have set for myself would include physically being able to instruct an exercise class. Psychologically developing my organizational skills to develop organized children. Also to intellectually grow, understanding more and on a greater level. Spiritually to come closer to my maker and being more like him every day.

Practices for personal health:
How I plan to achieve my goals. Physically through 30 minutes of working out 3 times a week, Walking and running, lifting weights 2 times a week and joining an exercise class. Spiritually meditating everyday in the word of God and seeking to understand God better through practicing his values showing love to everyone. Psychologically developing my organizational skills through mind exercises reading, and listening to experts on organization.

Commitment:
I am committed to accomplishing my goals. In the next six months I will reassess myself by jotting down my goals and posting them. In six months I will look at the progress I have made or lack of progress. Then I will reevaluate each goal and make new ones according to the point I have made it to. Realizing that if I have made progress I should still applaud myself and go on.

Meditation and Loving Kindness

Meditation and Loving Kindness would be the two exercises that I would say is most effective to me. Training my mind and obtaining mental fitness comes from my continued practice of meditation an loving kindness. The benefits I see is a more intentional me. I am more focused and in control of my actions. How I implement thee practices is by thinking on Gods word everyday, pondering the scriptures of the bible and speaking out loud to myself all day. This practice gives me a closer walk with God understanding better who He is and in return I better understand myself and my purpose for being. A real peace and strength is what I develop from meditation. Practicing loving kindness works along with meditation to give me peace and joy ultimately acquiring mental fitness. I spend my time thinking good of others and helping others. Walking in forgiveness and showing love to those I come in contact with is practicing loving kindness. I smile at everyone an work to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated by including and encouraging.

Meditation and Wellness

Class,

Meditation has increased my total wellness in a major way. Through meditation I am empowered to prosper in health, wealth, spritually and physically. In meditation time I speak to myself words of life that encourage me and I in return encourage others. Meditation prepares me for service. Showing compassion to others and willing to listen and serve makes a heathier me.

"One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" is a statement I agree with. I believe before I can expect someone to follow me I first must know what it is like to experience some of what they have or is experiencing. I don't believe you can walk someone through hurt if you have never been hurt before. You don't even know what it feels like. How can you relate. In the Health and Wellness profession I do not expect to lead clients through the health and wellness steps and not have spent time working on my process. As I grow and develop my testimony will encourage someone else.

Integral Assessment

Denise,

After taking the integral assessment I evaluated the aspects of my life and decided to make changes in my life. I have decided to make an attack plan. I will begin to first set short and long term goals. Then I will make a general attack list for different areas of my life ad begin to attack them one by one. I told my husband we do not have to do everything a one time just as long as we do something every week. I really believe that this is going to work. We have so much we want to do but it seemed lie we were never getting to it. Now we will because we have a strategy. This was a stressor for me. I have just alleviated stress and set in motion intentional behavior.
